Harmonica Buzz: Picture Buzz

This is the favorite photo I took while hanging out with the Masters of Steel String Guitar Tour. It's from the front porch of Wayne Henderson's house ... later that day I wrote "The Cornbread Jinx."

This is a photo of Mo' Kauffey playing for Honey Boy Edwards with Robert Busby looking on. Notice how Robert is kind of looking over things and not getting in the way? How he is there but not there? Look over us Robert Busby ... you are so missed.

Peter Case and Harmonica Buzz : March 25th, 2007 @ the Boathouse (photo by Mo' Kauffey). Peter is a great player and it's always cool to play with somebody who can really finger pick that has a love of harmonica.

With "The Great" Mo' Kauffey at Lansing's Old Town BluesFest in 2004. Not many guys play and write like Mo' ... I love playing tune "Cheshire Moon" and "Whatcha' Gonna Do" is really one of the finest songs you'll ever hear.

This one is down in Kentucky playing with Eddie Pennington (far right) and friends. I made two trips down to visit Eddie in 2001 and recorded "The Colin Shuffle," "If I Find a Bell" and "DeFord's Train" at his house a few days later with his son Alonzo.

Cephas and Wiggins in school @ Hershey, Pennsylvania. To get up close to this music really changes you. Phil Wiggins is the most powerful player of the harmonica I've ever heard and John Cephas was made to make music. I learned a lot from both of them.

John Cephas at his best ... the man loves guitar and teaching it. Here he is at Wayne Henderson's house teaching Linda Lay.

David Lay, John Cephas and Eddie Pennington picking around back stage in Pennysylvania on the Masters of Steel String Guitar Tour. It's not one the best picture I've taken, but it really shows how music crosses borders.
